Pulling into the station

July 05, 2005

The weekend was alright. None of the kids went this year, so it was very quiet. I kind of missed all the brats running around picking on each other all weekend. So to remedy this, I went with Jenn and Russ over to Newark where we blew stuff up. (Fireworks are legal in Newark.)

All the cousins were there (except for Gina and Corinne). And someone got the brilliant idea to use a welding torch thing to light stuff with. Just so you know, kids and torches? Not a good mix. You want to know what else isn't a good idea? A mortar in a can filled with alcohol. I'm just sayin', probably not a smart move. Thankfully, no alcohol could be found when it came time to set off the mortar. Oh and one more not-a-good-idea to mention... Mylar balloons filled with helium with some sort of explosive tied to the string. It's all well and good til it hits the power lines.

I have a massive headache today (two hours of explosives with no earplugs will do that to you) and my hair is unbrushed and shoved under a bandana. You can tell that I haven't slept very well in the last couple of days. I can't wait to get home and crawl into MY bed and watch this week's "Family Guy" and "American Dad."
